The overlooked sentry

#343project got sidetracked for a few days, as I am discovering very quickly how difficult this challenge is. One of the benefits I have found is looking at things with a third eye. Looking at things that are overlooked, an after thought, the dull and mundane. I present to you a story…

Standing less than three feet tall is a guardian.  An often overlooked guardian that if ever called upon can save your life 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Cast of iron and steel, its well defined physique hardly gets the respect that it is due. Through rain, snow, sleet, hail, and often pee’d upon, it stands at the ready. It may drain itself (which is its sole purpose) just to save a life when called upon.

The fire hydrant has been on guard, and saving lives all over the world since 1863. Giving it ten feet of cushion will ensure that you won’t get a ticket for violating its space. Be sure to always give this hydrant of life a bit of respect, or it may cost you dearly.  #343project
